California Assembly Bill (AB) 1204 (Chapter 751, Statutes of 2021) established the Hospital Equity Measures Reporting Program, which aims to enhance healthcare quality data and address long-standing health disparities by requiring the development of hospital equity plans and encouraging more accurate racial and demographic data reporting (HCAI).

HCAI Hospital Equity Measures Report

CMQCC will soon add an HCAI Hospital Equity Measures Report section to the Maternal Data Center (MDC), where California member hospitals can download a .CSV extract of their data stratified to HCAI’s reporting requirements. The goal of this new report is to reduce the effort required by hospitals and hospital systems to gather, calculate, and format their data and ultimately to streamline hospitals’ participation in this new state mandate.

To further support our California members, CMQCC will host a dedicated webinar on the reporting program in the coming months. This session will include a detailed presentation showcasing the new report functionality in the MDC and an open Q&A segment. The MDC team will communicate with participating hospitals once a date is finalized.

Please stay tuned for updates on this initiative as we continue collaborating with HCAI and related organizations to enhance the usability of an integrated report in the MDC and simplify processes for our California member hospitals.
