Congratulations to the 141 California hospitals that met or surpassed the statewide target NTSV Cesarean Birth rate of 23.9% for low-risk, first-time mothers! The hospitals were recognized by the California Health and Human Services Agency Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly and Cal Hospital Compare in an honor roll release based on their NTSV Cesarean Birth rates in Calendar Year 2019. More than 60% of California hospitals were able to meet the decade-end goal of 23.9% this past year—up from just 40% of hospitals in 2015!
